I've had this little side table put aside to refinish ...
(did I mention for quite sometime)
Just wasn't quite sure which way I wanted to go.
To strip with a natural hand rubbed finish
or maybe paint,
if paint then which version
oil based, latex or chalk.
Ugh...
I'd been wanting to try the DIY version of chalk paint and
this seemed liked the perfect project.
So chalk paint it was.
Simply a sample pot of paint & some plaster of paris.
has a great post on creating your own.
I added just enough water to make the mixture suitable for my sprayer
and...
This is the results!
It dries quickly,
so it's quite easy to finish a project in a matter of a few hours!
I'm pleased the way it turned out

What do you think?
Next I think I'm going to try DIY milk paint.

It came out beautifully! I'm impressed...and will maybe give this a try myself. Was your sample pot of paint a latex?
ReplyDeleteHow was your Fancy Flea day? Sorry I missed it this time. Hope you're having a good weekend! :)
Aww Thank you Laura! Yes it was a latex paint, I guess I should have mentioned that.. The Fancy Flea was good, not as good as November, but
ReplyDeletea great show overall. Again bigger than before. A quiet & restful week-end. Hope your spring is going well, so nice to hear from you!
